Child Model Shoot in the Village

How lucky am I? OK not really lucky, actually, just very resourceful. I found the perfect location for my NYC kids modeling shoots. Unless you book a session with me I can't really divulge exactly where it is (too much competition!) but I can tell you it is in my beloved G. Village where I spent my Carrie Bradshaw days! My session there last week was filled to perfection with natural even light and cool urban textures. And of course my subjects. That's where I get lucky. Beautiful. See for yourself. These are all straight out of the camera but will soon be edited into comp cards for both stunners who have recently signed with Willy Kids.

BFF's

I had to shoot a round of film for a friend's accessories company and I used 2 little girls from down the road who are the ultimate friends. These girls inspire me. There's something so amazing about having a best friend. Life seems more doable with them by your side. Mornings are easier to deal with after that 9am phone call, secrets don't seem so shocking once told to them, and you always know there's someone out there that loves you no matter what. I have been lucky in my life to have more than my fair share of BFFs. And even luckier to have 2 sisters I can add to that small group. My sisters will always be my first best friends and the ones whom I have learned the most from. So today I want to say thank you to all my sisters... my Nick at night, my life Sheild and my summer Rain. You know who you are. Even the one I haven't seen in 12 years. I love you and I thank God for you every day.

I'd Rather Be Working

Not sure what it is but I'm not the "Mother's Day" hoopla type. Maybe because it seems like everyday around here is mom's day as my husband falls over backwards to help out with everything. If I told you what he does for us on a daily basis you'd fall over. Or come steal him. So I won't. Lets just say he's domestically involved. So when the art director of the magazine I shoot for told me they moved up the deadline and had to shoot the cover asap, I scheduled it for Sunday. What could be more fun?! Everyone felt bad for me that I had to work so they all pitched in... little did they know I couldn't have been happier and for me it was really celebrating what I love doing with the one's I love the most.

My subject this time was a very handsome 7 year old model named Gage. Great name, amazing kid. He recently lost his two front teeth and we wondered how that would look.. but it turned out amazing. The best part of it was that both my guys helped me with the whole shoot. It's very much a family effort when I shoot at the home studio. Matty acted as client liaison, eating lunch with the model and entertaining him between shots. Mark was my PA for the day, changing back drops and hauling equipment. Having them around was my favorite part. Seriously, what can be better! OK, so maybe I did enjoy Mother's day after all.
